Man people suffer from the dreaded double chin. While healthy diet and exercise is always helpful, double chins may be a genetic. If you are of a healthy weight and still can’t change the look of your jawline, you may want to consider cosmetic surgery to help remove excess fat that exercise can’t. There are different approached to take and factors to consider when choosing your treatment.
CoolScultping
CoolSculpting freezes fat cells in the desired area which eventually cause the cells to die and pass through the patient’s system. It has little to no down time and can be done in an office visit. It is recommended that the treatment be done once or twice on the neck area, and results continue to improve over several weeks as the metabolism gets rid of dead fat cells.
Liposuction
Another approach to contouring the neck is through liposuction. One or two small incisions are made in the chin or behind the ear and a tool is inserted to remove excess fat from the neck. Local anesthesia is required for the procedure and it usually takes a week for a full recovery. Results are seen immediately and doctors have more control of the end results.
Both techniques are permanent, however a healthy lifestyle must be kept up to maintain fat loss to the area. Best results are seen on patients who have good elasticity to the skin, otherwise a neck-lift may be needed to reduce excessive skin tissue. Talk to our local cosmetic surgeon or beauty center to see which technique would be best for your neckline.
