Microneedling Snail Facial Treatment

Published on: November 13, 2018

One of the newest trends in skin treatment is the snail facial.  Yep, it is exactly what you think. People are putting snail mucous on their faces. While it sounds like a nightmare, the results have been surprisingly effective.

The treatment requires microneedling, a procedure that requires the technician to make tons of tiny pinpricks to the face to inject the serum deeper into the skin. A tool is used to cover a larger area at once so the procedure only takes about thirty minutes and a numbing cream is often applied first to lessen discomfort. The skin wants to heal itself of all of these small pokes, so the body makes more collagen in the skin.  The collagen plumps up the skin naturally reducing fine lines and wrinkles.

The snail serum is taken from living snails so they aren’t harmed in the making of the serum. Snail mucous contains antioxidants, glycoprotein enzymes, and antimicrobial peptides and helps the skin produce a natural glow after treatment. It is concentrated, purified and combined with hyaluronic acid to create the serum. It is recommended that 3-6 treatments are administered for longer lasting results, and then the treatment can be  done periodically to maintain a smooth, glowing complexion.

If you are the adventurous type, snail slime may be something for you to try. Snail masks are available to purchase online and from beauty stores for a fraction of the price. But if you want to see the best results, search the salons and spas in your area for microneedling treatment with a snail facial. It has glowing results.
