miraDry Laser Treatment

Published on: November 21, 2013

Anyone suffering from excessive underarm sweating can find the condition detrimental to his or her emotional well being, as well as his or her quality of life. Hyperhidrosis, which is the proper medical name for the condition, often results in the sufferer being self-conscious at school, work or social situations.

Many times clothing selection is influenced, as the person with the condition does not want to wear any clothing that accentuates the problem.  Previously the only way to correct the problem was to have invasive surgery to detach the nerve from the sweat gland.  Alternatively, the patient could opt for a non-surgical technique, which was often the application of a variety of aluminum chloride products.  In addition to only being effective for a few days at a time, the treatment often caused painful skin irritations.  Many time patients find this “cure’ to be more troublesome than the excessive sweating!

Allixary Hyperhidrosis is a new highly effective treatment option that has been found to provide an 86% reduction in underarm sweating in most patients.  This specialized treatment uses a state of the art laser to permanently eliminate sweat glands in the patient’s underarms, without the need for expensive invasive surgery.

The laser treatment, which is FDA approved, usually takes and hour to complete, with two sessions being required.  Although miraDry laser treatment is not for everyone, the treatment is very effective for most people.  The first step in the process is to consult with a qualified dermatologist, who specializes in the treatment, to determine if you area candidate for the procedure!
