Laser Hair Removal

Published on: December 4, 2013

Men and women alike have unwanted body hair that they would like to have removed from various parts of their bodies.  While there are a number of over the counter products available that will remove unwanted hair on the face, underarms, bikini area, legs arms and back, the hair ultimately grows back as these products offer temporary solutions.  Other solutions such as traditional shaving, waxing and electrolysis also offer temporary relief to those with unwanted body and facial hair.

An alternative solution for hair removal is a specialized laser, which uses an innovative cooling system and longer wavelength, to provide excellent results in a safe and effective manner.  Laser hair removal allows hair to be removed from all skin types including light, dark and sun tanned skin at any time during the year.  The key to the treatment is the ability of the laser to disable hair in its active growth phase, which provides a long-term solution to unwanted body hair.

In most cases the area will need to be treated between 3-6 times in order to obtain the desired results.  The exact number of treatments depends on the area being treated, the hair’s growth cycle and the patient’s hair thickness.  The plastic surgeon, who is highly trained in the safe and effective use of the laser, will stagger the appointments as necessary in order to treat new and old hair growth completely, in order to produce the desired results.  Laser hair removal is a highly effective and long lasting solution to getting rid of unwanted facial and body hair for both men and women!
